Design against crime
Books are continuously vandalised and stolen. By creating an active environment inside the store for customers to browse and review books, with stools that act as storage devices for desirable book titles, possible theft is limited. This project manages the task of theft prevention, not obtrusive to customers, yet uncomfortable for the potential thief.
The stool is designed specifically to meet the needs of Foyles bookstore, Charing Cross Road in London.
